Tokyo 2021

2021 marks the 25th year since mountain bike became an Olympic discipline in 1996 at the Atlanta Games.
Olympic cross-country (XCO) mountain biking, will therefore make its seventh appearance on the Games programme in 2021.

The Olympic mountain bike races will be held at the Izu MTB Track, located approx. 100 km away from Tokyo.
The new 4,100m off-road Izu Mountain Bike Course has a vertical height difference of 150 m and is set to be harder than previous Olympic courses. Various sections of the course have been given names including Amagigoe, Joren-no-taki, Hashi, Wasabi, Odorikohodo and Karesansui, according to their different characteristics. On different parts of the course, spectators will also witness sweeping views of Mt. Fuji.
